Viña Millaman
Chile - Curicó Valley
Fosé Canepa, an Italian immigrant, bought Hacienda El Cóndor in Peteroa in 1946, thus starting his dream of producing the best wines of the Curicó Valley. In 1998, the desire to expand and perpetuate the winemaking tradition with his three daughters led to the creation of a new winery based on the Hacienda, giving rise to Viña Millaman. The century-old walls of the winery were carefully restored and modern facilities were installed inside. With this change, a new stage begins: family tradition joins an innovative spirit that seeks to express the best characteristics of New World wines; explosion of fruity aromas, rich and lively flavors. This marks the beginning of Millaman and reflects the essence of who we are.
Our main vineyards are located in the Curicó Valley. However, we have incorporated into each line certain wines produced with grapes from our vineyards located in other valleys, in order to obtain the best expression of each variety.
The wine cellar, with adobe walls over 100 years old, was carefully restored preserving the Chilean colonial style. This fact marks the birth of Millaman by combining the family tradition and the wine heritage of the area with modern technology that was placed inside the winery. With a capacity of one million liters, it is designed to produce the highest quality wines as it is possible to handle small batches of grapes in stainless steel tanks of 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 liters.
Our underground cellar has a storage capacity of 250 barrels where our high-end lines are aged. We keep witness bottles of each harvest in order to maintain the quality and consistency standards of future harvests.
